BLS for healthcare providers is designed
to provide a wide variety of healthcare professionals with the skills to
keep people alive until they can be brought to a hospital or be treated
with more advanced lifesaving measures.
A BLS course incorporates CPR and First
Aid as necessary for certain occupations but is intended for those who
are considered healthcare providers. Other courses for occupations such
as EMT or homecare nurse require further outside of work courses
including Advanced Cardiovascular Life Support (ACLS) and Pediatric
Advanced Life Support (PALS).
